This hand piece is carved from Hetian white jade seed pebble, weighing 81.59 grams. The jade exhibits fine, oily texture with naturally retained pebble outline, accompanied by natural golden skin speckles and black mineral inclusions. It features a fully rounded carving of Bodhidharma in meditation shaped to follow the pebble’s natural form. Bodhidharma is depicted with a weathered face, curly beard, hands pressed together in prayer, wearing monk’s robes and a string of prayer beads, conveying serene and profound Zen spirit. The carving adopts smooth and concise craftsmanship, conforming to the natural contour of the jade stone with minimal cutting to preserve the primitive charm of seed jade. A perforation is reserved at the top; suitable for handheld appreciation or suspension.
